12-16 year olds
Our Seniors are taught singing (with solo and harmony work), theatre dance and drama (with script and improvisation work) in their weekly sessions.
Our older students are able to take on the lead roles in our productions as well as having their own dedicated annual Senior Production working with all the other senior groups at STA on more mature and challenging material. These classes offer great opportunities for our students to build on existing theatre training and work excellently alongside GCSE and A Level Drama and Theatre Studies programmes.
All of our productions are staged with a full lighting rig and microphones and we provide fantastic costumes for every show giving our students a great insight into professional theatre.
Before each show we also have a photo shoot which goes onto a professionally recorded DVD of each production so parents can keep a memento of their child’s performance.
At least once a year we bring in theatre and TV professionals to give one-off workshops to our students. Past visiting specialists include: Nikki Trow (X-Factor & BGT Choreographer), Steven Arnold (Ashley Peacock from Coronation Street) Paul Russell (Celebrity Vocal Coach) & David Dray (Special Effects Make Up Expert)
i love sta because you are treated equally and you can be yourself. you get to make friends that are more like you and you mix with people you wouldn't usually mix with. oh, and it's mega, mega fun!
