In the event that a student is unable to complete the term we regret that fees will not be returned.

A half term’s notice is needed if a student wishes to leave. If this is not given, a half-term’s fees are required in lieu.

Term fees are due BEFORE the start of term otherwise places may not be guaranteed.

  1. TUITION

Generally, students will be grouped according to age, although in certain circumstances students may be placed in another class should STA consider it beneficial to the student to do so. Parents/guardians will be consulted in such circumstances.

  1. DRESS CODE

Students should wear the STA T-shirt with plain black jazz pants/tracksuit bottoms, and black jazz shoes/trainers. Dance shoes must be worn. Uniform items are all available to purchase from us.

Long hair should be neatly tied back

For safety reasons, jewellery is not to be worn. STA does not accept responsibility for injuries resulting from a breach of this term.

  1. LOST PROPERTY

Surrey Theatre Academy does not accept responsibility for any lost or stolen items. Students are requested not to bring any valuables to class. Mobile phones are not permitted.

  1. BEHAVIOUR AND CONDUCT

For the benefit of all the students, STA will not tolerate bad behaviour. STA reserve the right to exclude any student for consistent bad behaviour. In the event that a student is excluded, your contract with STA will be terminated and fees will not be refunded.

Parents/guardians will be advised of any instance of bad behaviour. Should behaviour fail to improve students will be excluded. STA may immediately exclude students in the event of instances of serious bad behaviour.

  1. HEALTH

If students have any health problems it is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to notify STA in the new starter form. Please include all details of any such problems, including allergies, medication etc, and also provide us with two emergency telephone numbers.

  1. SUPERVISION

Students will be supervised at all times by DBS checked staff. Younger students under six years will be supervised on toilet breaks. Students will not be allowed off the premises unless accompanied by parents/guardians or another adult expressly notified to STA by parents/guardians.

We respectfully request that parents/guardians do not observe classes as it generally disrupts students and reduces teaching effectiveness. Of course, STA has no objection to parents remaining elsewhere on the premises while they wait.

  1. PERMISSION FOR USE OF VIDEO AND PHOTOS

STA do film and take pictures of the students at work. These may be occasionally used on our website, social media pages and advertising. If you do not wish your child to be featured please let us know.

  1. ABSENCE

We respectfully ask parents that they inform us via text (07810206544 ) or email (info@surreytheatreacademy.co.uk) if students are to miss a session. We ask that students avoid missing more than three sessions a term as this has a great impact on their classmates and the effectiveness of the teaching. They may also run the risk of having their speaking part removed.

  1. COMPLAINTS

STA hopes that students and parents/guardians will be delighted with the classes we provide. However, in the event you have any complaints please address these to Lucy Moir by post or email (info@surreytheatreacademy.co.uk). STA will endeavour to deal with complaints immediately, and in any event within 14 days.
