A HUGE well done to the thirty children who competed at this year’s Godalming Music Festival in February. Our two groups both won their sections with Distinction and also scooping two trophies into the bargain! The adjudicator commented that our performers were “A sheer delight to behold”, “Committed” and that “The energy and enthusiasm were infectious” Well done to all who took part and represented our school so brilliantly!

2017 has also seen us welcoming West End performer Tom Inge into our classes to teach our students the original choreography from Charlie And The Chocolate Factory. We had a fantastic time learning this and listening to Tom’s fantastic stories of what goes behind the scenes of a West End show!

Our most recent LAMDA examinations results were all absolutely fantastic with a 100% pass rate across the board and some truly excellent results including one student who received 100 marks for her Grade 8 Musical Theatre exam.  In total there were seventeen distinctions and all of our students did themselves proud.

We are very proud that STA alumni are currently appearing in School of Rock in the West End, touring in Honk! With the National Youth Music Theatre and have just finished a run at Chichester Festival Theatre in Forty Years On. We are also very excited that Alex O’Connor who trained with us in 2010-2012 now has a record contract and is tipped for big things under the name Rex Orange County.

We will be running brand new lunchtime drama clubs at Shottermill Junior School from September 2017 as well as offering private LAMDA drama tuition there too. We are very excited about introducing this and getting to know all our new students!
