Weekly Musical Theatre Classes for kids

At STA, we’re passionate about musical theatre - and we love sharing that passion with the next generation. Our classes in Haslemere, Surrey provide well-rounded training across singing, dance, and drama, with equal emphasis on all three. Lessons are grouped by age so teaching is always appropriate, engaging, and stretching.

Fast-paced and fun, our sessions help students build skills, make friends, and explore the magic of musical theatre. Confidence-building is at the heart of what we do: every student is given a speaking role in every performance.

We know that real confidence grows on stage, which is why live performance opportunities are central to what we do. Children aged 5–13 take part in at least two live stage events each year at Haslemere Hall, including an informal showcase and a full-scale musical or pantomime. Our students also have exciting opportunities to represent STA at performing arts festivals and live events.

I just wanted to say to you and all the team what an absolutely incredible show it was over the weekend. It honestly blows me away every time how much goes into these productions and the level of care and professionalism you bring to them.I am so grateful to you all for being such a constant in my child’s life. STA has always been her happy place, no matter what’s going on outside, and for that I am beyond grateful. Thank you for giving her and all of them so much love, support, your time, and most importantly confidence to truly believe in themselves.

Weekly Classes by Age

Theatre Monkeys

5–7 year olds

A magical introduction to performing arts through games, songs and storytelling - built for little ones.

Act 1

7–9 year olds

Singing, dance and drama in a fun, fast-paced class where every child gets to perform on a real stage.

Act 2

9–11 year olds

Taking it up a level - bigger roles, bolder performances and the chance to really find your stage presence.

Act 3

11–13 year olds

Challenging material, solo opportunities and preparation for the next exciting step in your theatre journey.

Youth Theatre

13–18 year olds

A dedicated group for passionate teens staging ambitious full-scale musicals to a fully professional standard every year.

Musical Theatre Timetable

Weekly theatre classes are run afterschool on Mondays and Tuesdays, and Saturdays at Haslemere Hall in Haslemere, Surrey.

Theatre Monkeys - 5–7 year olds

Act 1 Juniors - 7–9 year olds

Act 2 Juniors - 9–11 year olds

Act 3 Juniors - 11–13 year olds
