Youth Theatre for ages 13-18 in Haslemere Surrey

Surrey Theatre Academy runs a dedicated Youth Theatre group for older teens aged 13–18 in Haslemere, Surrey, staging an ambitious large-scale musical every year to full professional production standard.

STA Youth Theatre for local teens

Our vibrant Youth Theatre located at Haslemere Hall is a welcoming space where teenagers can express themselves, stretch their talent, and connect with likeminded performers.

Students rehearse a dedicated annual production, tackling more challenging material in an ambitious, large-scale musical. We are incredibly proud of the high standard of our productions.

Every show is staged to professional standards with fantastic costumes, industry standard sound and lighting, with hired sets to complete the experience. Along the way, students develop teamwork, resilience, and the confidence that comes from creating something extraordinary together.

Sessions build on existing skills and complement GCSE and A Level Drama and Theatre Studies. We also invite visiting professionals from West End theatre and film to lead masterclasses across disciplines such as stage combat and theatrical makeup. Past guests include:

  • Michelle Bishop (Cabaret, Fame, Sunset Boulevard)
  • Michael Jibson (Les Misérables, Beauty and the Beast – film; Hamilton – West End; Olivier Award winner)
  • Andrew Simeon (We Will Rock You, Legally Blonde, Starlight Express)

Being able to attend STA is so important to our daughter.  She absolutely loves it and to see her growing in self confidence socially it just heart warming.  It is so much more than just a theatre group, it has got her out of her bedroom and interacting... having fun!  Thank you doesn't really cut it!  But it's all I've got for now.
